Permanent Vacation

2014, film, super8, color, 3min 24sec

A diary travelogue into the streets of modern Istanbul through a nonmodern kino-eye, the super8 camera. Unedited topological impressions (during a meeting that became permanent) create a lo-fi collage of memories that is juxtaposed to the soundtrack of authentic sounds and field recordings. The role of the soundtrack is to deepen the experience and question its influence on the pictures.

Film by Maja Milic (Rezoug)

Sound: El Mahdy Jr
